Yep, its going to happen, no matter how much you didn’t want it to. LeBron James will win a championship, and I think it will happen tonight. He will be the MVP, he will have a great game. And if I’m wrong, and it goes another 1 (or 2) games, he will have great games in those as well. I really wish this series could last until the NFL season begins, but I’m so ready for the stamp to be put on this one.

NBA Finals? More like NBA JAM.
If you haven’t noticed, I took a mini hiatus after my beloved Boston Celtics broke down in the biggest Game 7 of them all**. I needed time to digest. Time to recover. Time to find my own closure. More on that later.
**Fan’s perspective. Any Game 7, involving a team you are invested in, automatically becomes “the biggest Game 7 of all”. It’s chronological too—this most recent NBA Game 7 is somehow bigger than that Yankees-Red Sox Game 7 of a few years ago.
This piece… it’s all about the NBA Finals. The “other” matchup. Continue reading
Dorsey Foresees: It IS the Heat, NOT the Antiquity.
You Ready? Here we go! I am psyched, peace out big 3, only 1 of which is playing big. I just don’t see how Miami loses this game, but I’ve been wrong before. But speaking of what I’ve been, I was DAMN close on my LBJ prediction:
DF Prediction:
28.3 PPG 8.8 RPG 7.2 APG
Actual (Thus far in Playoffs according to NBA.com):
30.8 PPG 9.5 RPG 5.3 APG +31.29 EFF

Battle of the Cro-sades (3-9 June)
My numbers are starting to look a little more reputable. Except baseball. Not the best time for my Orioles to go on a losing streak. But hey, I’m pretty spot-on in basketball.
Should be an ok week for sports. We’ve got the best-of-3 between San Antonio and OKC, as well as the final chapters for Boston-Miami. Typical baseball days. And the Stanley Cup is still happening. Let’s see what’s on the schedule… Continue reading
Battle of the Cro-sades (27 May-2 June)
Time to see what’s happening with this week’s Battle of the Cro-sades—27 May through 2 June 2012. We’re almost in the dog days of summer… ALMOST. My Orioles are still looking like the real deal… actually, most teams have playing very consistently (for better or for worse). We’re down to the NBA Final Four (OKC, San Antonio, Miami, and Boston). And we get to start the Stanley Cup (if anyone cares). Continue reading
Thunder vs. Spurs Thoughts
So the Western Conference Finals are set. And with the Thunder being a little younger, they will have basically the same rest. So, what’s going to happen? Will youth and energy trump experience and fundamentals? I certainly think it will. Oh yeah, let’s not forget the best home court advantage in the NBA. #ThunderUp
Battle of the Cro-sades (20-26 May)
Got some noteworthy/interesting games on the schedule for the upcoming week of 20 May 2012 through 27 May. We’ve still got some time before we find out which baseball teams are for real and which are not and the NBA playoffs are in full effect. We’re down to 4 teams in the NHL playoffs, so I’ll take a wild stab at that as well. And hey, let’s go a grand slam and include some Major League Soccer action. Continue reading
Is Lebron’s Underachievement Label Outdated?
He outscored the entire Knicks team 17-14 in the 4th Quarter. No more $0.75 jokes. He’s about to get ring number 1. #WriteItDown #WatchOutKobe
GTFOH: R.I.P. Mariano Rivera
Even as an Orioles Fan, I’m sad to see this. A lot of people say Saves are just a Statistic made up to make relievers feel better about themselves; but Mariano’s impact for the Yankees, especially when it counts in the playoffs, is unparalleled in any sport (except Trinity squash, google it). And to have it happen in B.P. is that much worse. Mariano, I hope you play as long as Jamie Moyer and continue to be a good example for MLB and the entire Hispanic community, even if it costs the O’s a few wins.
Dorsey Foresees: NBA Playoffs
Matchups are set, and so am I. Here are my picks for round 1. I’ll write up some analysis soon I hope, but I wanted to get these in writing before the action starts. WARNING: Only read on if you want to know exactly what unfolds in the 1st round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs. Continue reading
